Believe it or not, running goes a long way in reducing stress. As counterproductive as that sounds - working out when you feel overworked can actually calm you down. Not only that, but running keeps you healthier physically and metabolically.
It makes you feel happy
Running releases happy chemicals like Serotonin in your brain, elevating your mood.
It makes your body stronger
To run we must be able to support our body weight with our legs - the force of our weight trains our muscles and bones to become stronger.
It burns calories
We exert enormous amounts of energy when we run - especially when we run 5Ks, 10Ks, or marathons. The more energy you exert, the more calories you burn, and the stronger and fitter you become.
