New Year - New shoes – New Workout!

I’m all about trying out new workouts and new gym shoes, that combo always makes for a great session. So when I was given the opportunity to test the new Asics GEL-Fit Sana’s, I was pumped. These shoes are super sleek and comfortable and enable me to get through my workouts with ease. My goal is to always get a great workout in, be effective with my time, and be comfortable in the process. So I’m always on the lookout for comfortable clothing and shoes. This week's ‘Exercises of the week’ includes sledgehammer swings and inverted push-ups.

Sledgehammer Swings

I prefer using the diagonal swing, which uses a sliding grip—one hand on top of the other—in a staggered stance. 1) Lay the tire on its side. Take a diagonal swing stance with either foot forward and start smashing. Perform as many reps as you can in 30 seconds. Rest 20 seconds; swing from the opposite side. 2) Switch to overhead swings. 3) Rest up to two minutes and repeat all the swings. Do four to five sets total.

My Gel-Fit Sana’s are so Fashionable and versatile: this studio cushioned training shoe fits your foot like a glove whether you are attending barre class or shopping in the city. They were great support while I was doing my sledgehammer swings.

Inverted Push-Ups

With your feet as high as they need to be and your body is straight, elevated, and under control, bend your arms at the elbows and lower your chest toward the floor. Then straighten your elbows and push yourself back up again. After just a few reps of this chest workout, you should be feeling the burn in your chest, arms, and core. To get the most out of your chest workout, stay focused on your body position. Keep your back straight and don’t let it bow or sag. If the move places too much pressure on your arms, widen your stance a bit by moving your palms apart. My Gel-Fit Sana's made it really easy for me to do my suspension training. Light and flexible with a customized fit: The Gel- Fit Sana adapts and supports your foot with the inner lining from the heel to the forefoot, while providing a barefoot-like sensation. If shoes are to big and bulky, it’s often hard to slip your feet in the foot holders, but with my Gel-Fit Sana’s, I was able to slip my feet in with ease and do my workout without complications!

These two moves should be added into your normal upper body routine.
